General Elections: INEC inaugurates 2 ad hoc committees

National Chairman of the ruling party APC Adams Oshiomhole, says the party will approach the court on its ban by the Independent National Electoral Commission from fielding candidates for elective positions in Zamfara State in the 2019 general elections.

The National Chairman in Abuja on Friday said that INEC cannot disenfranchise the people of Zamfara from participating in any of the elections in 2019.

“With all due respect, INEC cannot award a state to the Peoples Democratic Party or any other political party.

Expressing optimism that the rule of law would prevail, he added that the party has confidence in the judiciary and would always abide by court rulings.

INEC had on October 10, said that APC was not eligible to field candidates for Governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly positions in Zamfara for elections next year.
