The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, has instructed the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation to properly investigate and duly prosecute all the Directors and Executive management members, of the then Skye bank who contributed to its collapse.
According to a statement by the Head, Communication and Public Affairs of the corporation, Mohammed Ibrahim, Ahmed gave the directive during her visit to the NDIC in Abuja on Friday,
Ahmed also expressed her concerns about the spate of non-performing loans in the banking sector.
In response to her request, the NDIC MD assured the Minister of the recovery of all the debts owed by the defunct Skye Bank and other banks in liquidation as the primary concern of the NDIC is the protection of depositors funds and avoid disruption of bank services.
