Some social affairs commentators in Yenagoa want the new Chief of Army Staff to keep the flag flying by ensuring that insurgency in the North-East and other parts of the country becomes a thing of the past.

They said that the flight to win the war against banditry, kidnapping, and herdsmen attack is a collective effort, therefore, he should carry all officers and men along in terms of welfare, intelligence gathering, and the purchase of 21st-century equipment.

Until his appointment as the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Yahaya was the theater Commander of the counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency military outfit in the North East.
