god of compassion

Obatala, the god of compassion is the most powerful and sweetest of them all. Obatala, like the Christian Jesus, the deity is the child of god Olorun, the father, allowed Obatala, the child, to descend from the heavens, create land over the waters, and model human bodies from popo (mud and clay).

As the godfather of all Orishas, Obatala is revered and respected by his people.

Ile-Ife, a sacred city in Yoruba, was the first place Obatala settled when he descended from the heavens, according to Yoruba mythology.

Obatala does not have a gender that is fixed. He has an androgynous appearance. He is wedded to Yemaya, the goddess of the seas.

The deity, on the other hand, does not have a gender and could be male, female, or neither. Obatala’s asexuality makes him the deity of all humans, regardless of gender.

Obatala has no sympathy for human community gender fights. Similarly, although being linked with whiteness, Obatala is colorless due to the polychromatic nature of white light.

Obatala is also known as the White-Clothing God. Only white offerings with no spices are accepted by Obatala. Worshippers of Obatala dress in white, offer coconut milk and white pumpkin and burn sandalwood incense.

Obatala’s charms include silver and ivory. The mercy of Obatala is found in the god’s self-awareness. Obatala has sculpted exquisite human beings, according to Yoruba spiritual tradition, by employing his heavenly power in molding humanity.

Obatala, however, broke the duty of care and created some malformed human beings while temporarily under the effect of Palm wine. he was drunk and this made his brother Oduduwa take over his duties from him. When a person suffers as a result of an existential flaw, such as an organ or limb malfunction, a genetic problem, or a hereditary flaw, Obatala is incredibly compassionate because he understands that he bears some of the blame.

God shows compassion in most spiritual systems when a human being makes a mistake; in Yoruba tradition, Obatala shows compassion because he made a mistake of creating deformed humans when he was drunk.

Obatala is the fairest god in the pantheon thanks to this outstanding self-concept.
