Popular Nollywood Actor, Olarenwaju Omiyinka popularly known as Baba Ijesha may be granted bail as early as tomorrow according to reports from the Police Station in Panti, Yaba where he is being held in custody.
The source disclosed that due to the ongoing strike by the judiciary, suspects cannot be detained indefinitely without trial. They also disclosed that on further investigation as reported by Punch, revealed that he may not have defiled the victim
Omiyinka is currently facing rape-related charges after getting arrested by a colleague, Princess Damilola who is also the guardian of the 14-year-old in question that was molested. She maintains that stories about the girl being molested at 7 have been twisted and gave a first account on Instagram as in the links below

The girl apparently disclosed that she had been sexually abused from a very tender age of 7, the case was not reported until she turned 14 which the police claim is now statute-barred under Nigeria’s laws.
They also report that based on a CCTV footage that was obtained, the actor was seen indiscriminately touching the girl but did not show any sexual intercourse which they also report the victim assented to; as such, the police claims detaining him any longer would be an infringement of his fundamental human rights.
Nigerians have also signed an online petition against his release on grounds that the first testament and the more recent statements by the Police seemingly do not add up.
