Ross Perot, the would have been United States President had he not withdrawn in 1992, passed away today in Dallas at his home surrounded by his family.

Perot a very uncanny businessman valued at $4.1 billion by Forbes reportedly passed away to Leukaemia according to a statement released by his family. Peret started his career at IBM after his naval service as a salesman in 1957 and quickly created a name for himself.

Shortly after achieving his yearly sales target barely a month into the year, he quickly became unsatisfied and started his own company, the Electronic Data Systems Inc. This one singular move made him a billionaire at 38 processing data for huge clients such as NASA, the Medicare system and other government agencies.

Perot eventually sold the company to General Motors after clashing with top officials at the company and was paid $900 million at the time to transfer ownership to the GM board.
Perot eventually started another company Perot System Corps, quadrupled the company’s profit and slashed the losses by half during his active participation at the company.

A veteran himself, he was biased towards military veterans hiring them based on their ability to work under pressure.

Perot was survived by his wife, Margot, his 5 children and grandchildren.
