Kanhaiya Kumar on citizenship amendment act

Kanhaiya Kumar, a politician who hails from Bihari in the northeastern part of India has challenged the sitting Prime Minister to use force to stop their protests for Freedom relating to a Citizenship Amendment Act which was introduced in December last year.

The 33-year-old has within the past few weeks become a terror for the Modi, gathering the attention and even loyalty of the opposition who have begun throw support behind him, a move that has not yielded much success due to his stark non-committal attitude.

Kanhaiya has criticized Modi’s tenure for failing to address the rising cases of unemployment in India, also that his pro-Hindu policies are stifling minorities thus making secularity difficult for minorities.

When prompted with politically inclined questions, he veered away and only committed to upholding Modi accountable for using “religion to accentuate fault lines”.

Currently, Kumar has at least over a million YouTube subscribers and over 1 million Twitter followers who watch his videos and clearly believe in this new rise of political perspective.

Kumar has been around since 2016 when he first shot to prominence after getting arrested during a rally and charged with sedition for chanting slogans that were ‘anti-India’ however Kanhaiya is of a different opinion and states so, read below

“My critical thinking and ability to question Modi’s hard-line Hindu policies have scared the government since 2016,” Kumar said. “Now, I am not alone. More and more people are joining our movement against Modi.”

The latest move to introduce the Citizenship Amendment Act gained momentum since December of last year, the act allows for individuals from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to gain Indian Citizenship so long as they are not Muslims.

The controversial Act has been defended by the Modi Government that it helps to help minorities who face persecution in pro-Muslim nations and maintains that the Kumar led protests are politically motivated.
