Vladimir announces first COVID-19 vaccine on the globe discovered in Russia

Russian President, Vladimir Putin announced earlier today in a televised video conference call with ministers that the first vaccine offering sustainable immunity against the COVID-19 virus has been registered in Russia.

Russia has been in the long haul of finding a vaccine for the coronavirus pandemic and is now making plans to mass produce the vaccine within weeks and hopes to dole out several millions of doses in the following year.

A proud Putin could not have been happier as he mentioned that one of his daughters participated in the experiment towards reaching a vaccine after less than two months of human testing.

The World Health Organization however urged Russia last week to follow all the required protocol to develop a safe vaccine for all.

In related news, the WHO is also seeking funds to help facilitate clinical trials

We are in close contact with Russian health authorities and discussions are ongoing with respect to possible WHO prequalification of the vaccine, but again prequalification of any vaccine includes the rigorous review and assessment of all required safety and efficacy data,” WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic told a U.N. briefing in Geneva, referring to clinical trials.
