The United States (US) government has advised Nigeria to take remedial measures against the imminent population explosion, which it estimates will reach 400 million by 2050.
This is due in its assessment, that this will cause more problems than opportunities for Nigeria.
According to US Deputy Chief of Mission in Nigeria, Mr. David Young, Nigeria’s current amenities would not accommodate the estimated population by 2050.
He, as a result, advised the government to prioritize human capital development, health, education and put a check on corruption.
