Inspector Arigidi Ebibor, Sergeant Rotimi Adesoba, Sergent Olalekan Olakunle. Sergent Friday Oni and Inspector Taiwo Omojope are the five Special Anti Robbery Squad operative (SARS) arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for attempting to extort a businessman in Okota, Lagos.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, said the suspects are undergoing interrogation at the commands X-Squad Section. This conforms to the directives of the Commissioner of Police, who has ordered the further enquiry into allegations brought against the operatives for the harassment of Immanuel Ibe-Anyawu at Ago-Palace Way, Okota. The commissioner describes the situation as a “Highly regrettable incident”
The arrested Officers are from Ipakodo base of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, and they will be arraigned before an adjudicating officer at the police Provost Department to begin their orderly room trial.
