The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has called for a transparent investigation into reports of poison attacks on school girls in Iran and for the perpetrators to be punished.

Spokesperson for the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ravina Shamdasani, told reporters in Geneva that the authorities have said that they have ordered an investigation into these incidents, but that the UN urges that such investigations be transparent, and the findings made public to bring the perpetrators to justice.
