The United States has announced an extension of the validity of tourist visas for Nigerians from two years to five years.

The development comes days after the Nigerian government announced that it had entered into an agreement with the US on the extension of tourist visa validity for both countries.

In a statement on Monday, the US mission in Nigeria said the extension will take effect from March 1, 2023. The US mission added that despite the validity extension, the application fee will not increase.
