Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, the legal representative of the sitting President has described the petition as a sham as it lacked merit and substance.

“I have handled a few electoral petition cases, this is one petition that yarns for help, for assistance and for evidence but could not get any.

“Apart from the hype the matter has generated, there is nothing in law to support the allegations before the tribunal, Olanipekun said.

Mr Yunus Usman, SAN and counsel for INEC also shared the same opinion stating that the February 23 Presidential Elections was conducted in utmost compliance with the Electoral Act 2010 and that the election results transmitted electronically to a central server is the “greatest lie of the century”.

Dr Livy Uzoukwu, however, petitioned for the Tribunal to disregard all the claims and exercise its powers. He went ahead to state that President Buhari unable to present his Secondary School Leaving Certificate to squelch all allegations against him and that INEC had indeed stored the February 23 Election materials on a centrally controlled server.
