Tony Elumelu, the Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation while receiving his honorary award from the Bayero University in Kano expressed how President Buhari can achieve lifting 100 million citizens out of poverty.
Tony Elumelu was conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Business degree for his enormous contributions to human capital development across the African Continent through his notable contributions via the Tony Elumelu Foundation.
While receiving his award, Tony Elumelu shared that the government alone and private parastatals are not enough to provide jobs needed for all the youths therefore only by promoting entrepreneurship, creating favourable policies and building the relevant infrastructure can the President achieve his Democracy Day speech to lift 100 million people from poverty.
Tony Elumelu also noted that since over 60% of the African population are youths, the only way to drive the continent forward will be to invest greatly in the youths.
