Third Mainland Bridge to be closed for repairs July 12

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr Adedamola Kuti, said today that consultations had already begun as the ministry is to hold a meeting with stakeholders Wednesday to discuss how to manage traffic during the repairs of the Third Mainland Bridge.

 

The Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos is to be closed for repairs to commence with tests on the bridge midnight on Thursday, July 12 to Sunday, July 15.

 

According to him, stakeholders attending the meeting to discuss the repairs include traffic regulatory agencies, transport unions, truck owners and drivers’ unions, law enforcement agents, among others.

The Federal Executive Council had earlier approved that maintenance work is to be carried out on the Third Mainland Bridge.

Six other damaged bridges in the state namely; Coconut, Independence, Apapa, Ijora-7up and most recently, the Otedola Bridge are already undergoing maintenance and rehabilitation.
