Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, says the ministry will ensure there is no gender disparity in the administration of the Covid-19 vaccines in Nigeria.
The Minister while addressing reporters in Abuja said elderly women at the grassroots are a major target of the vaccine and will not be robbed of getting the jab.
She noted that although the Presidential Task Force is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring the even distribution of the vaccine, the Ministry will be working closely with them to ensure women’s rights are up to help.
On the International Women’s Day celebration, the Minister hinted that over 100 women’s groups are benefitting from food supplies from the ministry to cushion the economic effects caused by the Covid-19 lockdowns.
The food supplies are for an onward distribution to the remote communities.
