Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jannik Sinner began their Indian Wells Open campaigns with respective straight sets victories on Saturday (March 11).
Auger-Aliassime needed over 90 minutes to clinch the opening set before a decisive break of serve in the ninth game of the second saw the Canadian eighth seed beat Spaniard Pedro Martinez 7-6(5) 6-4.
Italian Sinner, seeded 11th, booked his spot in the third round following a 6-3 7-6(2) win over French veteran Richard Gasquet.
