Sudan protests: Doctor and teen 'shot dead' during clashes

A doctor and a 16-year-old have been killed in Sudan amid demonstrations against President Omar al-Bashir.

A Sudan doctors syndicate reported to the BBC that the doctor, as well as the teen, got shot in the head by the state security forces who aimed and fired directly at the demonstrators.

It is also reported that 9 other demonstrators were wounded at the Royal Care International hospital sit-in protest in Khartoum where security guards used tear gas to disperse the crowd and arrest at will.

“Since the beginning, the security forces have responded with excessive use of power and with live ammunition,” Dr. Amjed Farid said.

“The doctor who died had “over 14 live bullets in his body”, he added.

This will be the fifth week of the anti-government protests in Sudan.
