In a lengthy statement signed by the General Secretary of the Senior staff Association of electricity and allied companies (SSAEAC), the group have debunked all rumours that the sitting President General and Mananging General has been removed from office by the DG of the Transmission Company of Nigeria.

They have described the act as illegal and criminal and stated that the DG of TCN has no legal backing to inform such activities, so those pronouncements remain null and void.

In furtherance to the above, the group also disclosed a formal report has been sent to the MD’s superior while stating claims that may have incited the MD to take such decisions. Read the full statement below

The attention of Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC) has been drawn to the action of the so-called Managing Director Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to the effect that he has retired our President General who is also the General Manager (Special Duties) and hereby state as follows:

1. That the purported retirement was fraudulent because no MD has such powers and any attempt to the contrary is void and of no effect, especially when he had sought the approval of his superiors to do it but failed. Our President General remains in TCN service whether he like it or not.

2. From available records, our President General (a top level electrical engineer and professional manager) has many years of service ahead in TCN and has not attained statutory 60 years of age or 35 years of service.

3. That the so-called MD has been in trade dispute with our union because of his impunities and acts of incompetence hence his attempt to illegally remove our President General in retaliation, without distinguishing between a corporate entity and an individual.

4. The MD in unity with his partners in National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) and our expelled officers/members in TCN are aggrieved and pursuing vendetta for their wrongs as exposed, stopped and sanctioned.

5. The MD TCN specifically solicited for petition and backing from NUEE to help him commit the blunder of attempting to oust a General Manager with forged documents and falsehood.

6. SSAEAC has formally reported the MD‘s  blunder to his superiors and security agencies who are investigating his irrational and criminal  action without requisite authority.

7. That MD TCN in an attempt to oust our PG, has entered into trouble for forgery and misrepresentation of facts which has criminal implications.

8. That it is shameful for the MD and his partners to do a press conference and issue a statement on the 9th of April 2020 for an action communicated in a letter dated 24th of April 2020, signaling conspiracy and irresponsibility to commit fraud.

9. We are aware of an unsigned online statement by the expelled SSAEAC former officers and one Babatunde of NUEE with slander contents against our PG, with no truth in it. Having failed with unsubstantiated petitions to EFCC, they have resorted to the media to cast aspersions on the impeccable professional records and character of our PG. SSAEAC remains determined to restore all that the locust (NUEE) had eaten, no matter their unholy alliances.

10. Our lawyers have been briefed to take up all the above with security agencies and the courts.
The general public is hereby warned of the tendencies of these shameless collaborators in crime and falsehood who are so ignorant that they do not know what can stand as true or false.

Long live, SSAEAC!
