Spain’s Ana Carrasco got herself into the motorbike record books as its first female world title holder. The 21-year-old won the World Supersport 300 title with a point over her rival, Mika Perez.

Ana joined the World Supersport 300 series last year and instantly made her mark with a debut win in Portugal last September and recorded impressive victories in Imola and Donington.

Although she started the race at Magny-Cours at 25th position, her 13th place finish was enough to secure the title.

Ana Carrasco dedicated her title win to Spanish Moto2 rider, Luis Salom, who died due to a crash in the practice session of the Catalunya Grand Prix in 2016.
