Social Works Bill: Practitioners Commend Nass Over Passage

Members of the Chartered Institute of Social Works Practitioners have commended the President and the house of representatives over the passage of the Social Works Bill.

Members of the Institute whose membership has risen to seven thousand over the years also applauded the media for its wide coverage of proceedings leading to the passage of the bill.

The president of the Institute, Professor Oluwayemisi Obashoro-John who led her members on a thank you visit to the national assembly says challenges relating to social development in Nigeria was part of reasons which necessitated the setting up of the institute.

She also recommended the domestication of the Child’s Rights act in all the 36 states to check abuses.
