Senegal is currently taking the lead towards containing the COVID-19 virus without substantially affecting the nation’s economy. Asides mass-producing $1 masks which are readily available to all and sundry, the citizens have also resulted to producing 3D ventilators valued at $60 as opposed to purchasing the imported ones which costs $60,000 on average.
The approach seems to be working as Senegal has only recorded two fatalities so far due to their proactive approach. In this video, one of the top medical personnel has disclosed plans to distribute the testing kits across Africa thereby quickly identifying those with the virus and thus containing it.
