The Senate on Tuesday received a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari announcing the 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF, and Fiscal Strategy Paper, FSP.
Buhari in the letter said the timing of the presentation of the document to the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly is to give the legislature enough time to review the MTEF.
According to the letter, MTEF will also help enhance the collective efforts to sustain the January – December financial year and pave way for the submission of the 2021 budget.
The proposal was, however, referred to Senate Joint Committee on Finance, National Planning, Petroleum Upstream, and Gas for consideration, and to report back to the plenary on Thursday.
