Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Osun State, has denied Senator Iyiola Omisore’s membership of the party. This denial effectively implies that the former deputy governor is not yet the bona fide flag bearer of the party to the upcoming governorship election in the state, as many had been made to believe.
The party’s state secretary, Elder Femi Awe, said it was not aware that Senator Omisore joined the party
Awe said that Omisore has not personally or officially informed the party leadership of his interest to become an SDP member.
Omisore, whose romance with the SDP became an open secret since about a month now, formally announced his shift from the Peoples Democratic Party to the SDP on Sunday.
The senator, who flew the flag of the PDP in 2014, had lost the governorship election to incumbent governor Rauf Aregbesola.
