The building of Olusola Saraki, popularly called Ile Arugbo in Ilorin has reportedly been demolished in the wee hours of this morning by the Kwara State Government.

The building located along the Ilofa Road within the Government Reserved Area of Ilorin. neighbours and close residents recounted their surprises, waking up to bulldozers breaking down the building.

The house was famed for distribution of goods, including clothes, money and food items to the elderly. The sitting Governor Abdulrazaq renounced the Title of the property for illegal Possession.

According to the Chief Press Secretary, the property was revoked to build a new government secretariat which it was initially meant for, as it was unlawfully allocated to a private firm without any record of payment to the government.

The former Senate President and Governor of the same state for eight years, Bukola Saraki, however, argued that indeed the property was rightfully allocated under the name Asa Investment Limited in the 1980s with a right of occupancy title issued on the property.

Saraki who is also facing scrutiny has had many of his assets seized and has disclosed that the current administration is trying hard to erase his father’s legacy.
