In São Paulo, Bars remain closed following an outbreak of the pandemic disease, while restaurants are only allowed to serve takeouts or deliveries.

However, on the outer part of the City, residents are going about their lives stating they don’t have the luxury of staying home and not working.

A Saloon owner in Brasilandia identified as Dejair Batista made known that staying at home would only lead to starvation and death. Brasilandia is one of the neighborhoods in the city with a high casualty of COVID-19.

According to Sao Paulo Municipal Health Secretariat, over 120 residents in the area have died from the virus.

Brazil remains Latin America’s most affected country by the outbreak. The country has over 177,000 recorded cases of the virus with over 12,000 death to the outbreak. São Paulo City made up about 4000 of the number of recorded death.

Brazil President, Jair Bolsonaro referred and dismissed the pandemic disease that has infected over 4 million people globally has a ‘little flu’.

Allowing businesses and companies to continue running. São Paulo however has been under quarantine since March.

Over 260,000 people live in Brasilandia with mostly with Jobs in the informal economy that has now been negatively impacted as a result of the outbreak.

Edson Aparecido, Sao Paulo Health Secretary made known that although Wealthy travelers brought coronavirus into Brazil, the people that would be the hardest hit by the pandemic would be the poor people.
