Salomon Rondon has completed his loan move to Newcastle, with fellow striker Dwight Gayle moving to West Bromwich Albion as part of the deal. Newcastle will reportedly pay £2 million to complete the swap deal.

Rondon scored seven times in the Premier League last season as West Brom were relegated to the Championship.

Gayle netted six Premier League goals for Newcastle United last season, just a year after scoring 23 times for the club in the Championship.

Newcastle manager, Rafa Benitez suggested that the club’s board had let him and his players down in the transfer market this summer, and also claimed that the club would be heading for a relegation battle if they failed to bring in significant reinforcements before Thursday’s deadline.
