The much-celebrated peace in the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, after the ward congresses have dropped to ground zero after a court order for the party to maintain status quo, pending the determination of a motion of interlocutory injunction.

Though the latest development is a setback to the party, Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Abbot Ogbobula, urged party faithful to worry less, assuring that they will triumph while Senator Magnus Abe’s supporters have blamed the crisis in the party on the Minister of Transportation.

When the APC ward congresses went ahead seamlessly without any restriction on July 31st, little did loyalists of Transportation Minister, Chibuike Amaechi, know that another round of litigation process would stare them at the face 48 hours later.

Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Rivers APC, Ogbobula, acknowledged that the court order for the party to maintain status quo on the congresses pending a motion of interlocutory injunction will slow down the party, however, assured members victory in the days ahead.

He pointed accusing fingers at the Rivers State Governor for some of the travails of the party, a line of thought rebuffed by Senator Abe’s associates, who absolved the Governor of blame.

Tony Okocha said the internal wranglings of the APC have lingered for long because of insincerity on the part of Amaechi’s supporters.

They, however, agreed that the surest way out from the quagmire is for both parties to sincerely go back to the negotiating table.
