Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo announced in a public address that contact tracing measures and testing will increase after the number of COVID-19 cases in the Gold Coast region spiked.
He also disclosed that frontline workers managing the COVID-19 crisis will not only be tax-exempt but enjoy a 50% pay increase till year-end.
In addition, Ghanaians will continue to enjoy free water supply to promote social distancing directives.
The increase in cases has been attributed to a disregard of the social distancing measures and the upcoming polls scheduled for December.
The cases increased by over 5 times within a short two-week window period.
