Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk caps off an impressive league season by claiming the Premier League Player of the Season award.
The Dutchman saw off competition from team-mates; Sadio Manay and Mohamed Salah as well as Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, and Eden Hazard to claim the accolade.
The winner was decided by a combination of votes from the captains of the 20 Premier League clubs, a panel of football experts and fans via the EA SPORTS website.
Van Dijk has scored four league goals and helped Liverpool to register 20 clean sheets in the league this season.
His impressive performances also earned him the PFA Players’ Player of the Year honour last month.
