Officers and men of the Borno State Police Command have mobilized and resolved that criminals and social miscreants will not have a hiding place in the state.

The newly posted Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Aliyu, made this known during the launch of Operation Puff Adder in Borno State.

Operation Puff Adder is designed by the Inspector General of Police to rid the country of violent crimes and criminality.

It is being carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Armed Forces and other sister agencies.

Borno Commissioner of Police counts on the support and cooperation of the civil populace.

The operation would be characterised by motorised patrols, stop and search, and the raiding of criminal hideouts and black spots.

The Nigeria Army, represented by the Garrison Commander 7 Division, Brigadier-General Mike Aliechenu and the representatives of other sister security agencies, pledged their support.

A Non-Governmental Organisation partnering with the Police also provided solar-powered lanterns, heavy duty flash lights, mattresses, mosquito nets and tents, among other items, to facilitate the take-off of the operation.
