Platinum Jubilee Exhibition: Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation Gown On Display

The gown Queen Elizabeth wore for her 1953 coronation as well as other items including portraits of the British monarch and her jewellery go on public display at Windsor Castle this week as part of an exhibition celebrating her historic Platinum Jubilee.

Taking place at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Hall and the Lantern Lobby, the exhibition, called “Platinum Jubilee: The Queen’s Coronation”, will run from July the 7th to September the 26th.

It takes a look at Elizabeth’s coronation which took place on June the 2nd, 1953. Elizabeth, now 96, became queen following the death of her father, George VI, on Feb. the 6th, 1952.
