The Plateau State chapter of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JIN, under the leadership of His Royal Highness the Emir of Wase, Dr Muhammad Sambo Abdullah, has debunked rumour making the rounds that it planned a protest following the recent killing in Jos.

In a statement signed by its Director ICT & NGO Matters in the state, Lawal Ishaq, the JNI said the message which has gone viral in social media, notably WhatsApp is not true.

The statement noted that “JNI as custodian of the Jos Central Mosque has not given permission to any individual or groups to carry out any form of activities within its premises”.

While calling on all citizens to observe the various curfews imposed by the government on Jos North, Jos South, and Bassa Local Government Areas, the JNI said it is firmly committed to ensuring that lasting peace is restored to Jos and environs and it is, therefore, urging the general public to disregard the message in circulation as nothing but handwork of mischief makers and crisis victims.
