Pella and Dellien remain in Isolation ahead of US Open in New York

Argentina’s world number 35 Guido Pella and Bolivian world number 94 Hugo Dellien have been placed in quarantine following their Trainer, Juan Galvan coronavirus positive test.

The pair have now been disqualified from the Cincinnati open, which kicks off on Friday, August 21 at Flushing Meadows New York, home ground for the upcoming US Open. 

Juan Galvan will be quarantined for a period of10 days, with the United States Tennis Association previously saying players would have to isolate for 14 days. The world number 35 Pella, said he hopes he would be able to take part in the Grand Slam tourney despite the pandemic.

In a statement, the Cincinnati open organizers said the two players had been in prolonged contact with the individual after the tracing process was conducted.

They further said after consulting with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the players involved had to be disqualified from the 2020 Western and Southern Open to mitigate the spread of the virus but states that the players have no symptoms.
