Over 70,000 Americans sign Petition to rename Fifth Avenue after former U.S President, Barack Obama

In what appears to be nothing short of an attempt to unruffle President Trump, over 70,000 Americans have signed a petition to rename the section right in front of the Trump Tower in Manhattan after former President Barack Obama.

It’s no news that there is no long-lost love between the two and the petition has continued to gain momentum with a count of 1000 extra petitioners as at yesterday on MoveOn.org. According to the organizer, the entire petition began as a joke that would make President Trump mad.

Surprising enough the petition began to gain momentum with the reasons behind including saving the country from the great recession, serving two terms in office scandal-free, capturing Osama Bin Laden among others.

The likelihood of their petition becoming a reality hangs in the balance as according to some laws, a public figure has to have passed away for a minimum of two years before they can be honoured with a street named after him.

If this petition is successful, the Manhattan Trump Tower would be located on 725 President Barack H. Obama Avenue, New York, NY 10022. How ironic is that for two people who have no singular common interest?
