The Vice President of the Country, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has in very bold tones declared that he would resign if the killings associated with herdsmen in the Northern parts of the country including Benue are in any way religiously motivated.

He made this declaration during an official gathering at the Benue State Government House, Markurdi, this was in response to and also to allay the fears of one of the speakers, Williams Avenya, The Catholic Bishop of Gboko.

Osinbajo also reiterated his belief as a Christian and further explained that the purpose of his visit was to gain first-hand knowledge of the killings that have occurred, in an effort to put an end to the endless killings that have been plaguing the State.
