The Police in Uganda have arrested the opposition legislator and musician, Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine’s arrest was confirmed on his official Twitter account on Monday, explaining that he was ‘violently arrested’ by the security officials.
Bobi Wine was arrested enroute his procession to the beach venue in Kampala where he was to hold his scheduled concert.
The Ugandan police also dispersed the supporters that came for the concert, using tear gas and water cannon.
“Police is empowered by the law to use reasonable force and that’s what we did to disperse his supporters and make him comply with our orders,” police spokesman Patric Onyango told Reuters.
