Governor Rochas Okorocha has raised a fresh petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of withholding his certificate of return for the Imo West Senatorial District.
The Imo State Governor also advised the INEC chairman, Mahmoud Yakubu immediately release the certificate of return to him.
Okorocha in his petition explained the position of the returning officer who had alleged announcing results under duress, after declaring him the winner of the Imo West Senatorial district at the February 23rd 2019 elections.
The petition by Okorocha raised concerns over an alleged conspiracy with political opponents and the commission, stating that the electoral umpire has no jurisdiction to query the authenticity of the election is conducted.
