Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has opined that the nation currently risks bankruptcy under President Buhari’s administration.

The former president analyzed that Nigeria grew from a debt profile of $10.32 billion to $81.274 billion within the administrative period of president Buhari alone.

According to Obasanjo, Although, there is no harm in borrowing, Nigeria lacks the discipline and competence to manage such a huge debt profile.

Obasanjo is famous for doubling the nation’s GDP during his tenure, and increasing the nation’s foreign reserves to $43 billion from $2 billion it was and ultimately debt free.

Urging nigerians to speak up or risk becoming one of the poorest nations in the world, Obasanjo calls for the National Assembly to rise up to its core duties to secure generations of Nigerians to come from overwhelming debt.
