Team Lagos harvested medals in the Taekwondo event at the ongoing 2022 National Sports Festival, claiming silver and bronze medals on the opening day of the competition.
No fewer than four medals, 3 silver and one bronze was won by Team Lagos athletes in the poomsae event for individual and team. Team Lagos claimed silver in the mixed pair Poomase event while the male and female teams claimed silver and bronze respectively.
Competing in the event for the very first time, Beauty Disu shown brightly among the competitors to claim Individual silver in Poomsae event.
Chairman, Lagos State Taekwondo Association, Jimmy Ogunnowo commended the performance of the athletes so far while revealing that the Taekwondo team prepared adequately for the National Sports Festival.
Ogunnowo added that the level of competition at the event is very high compared to the last National Sports Festival held in Benin City, Edo State while assuring that Lagos athletes will give their best as the events continue.
