According to an Official Communique released by Salihu Abubakar, the Chief Operating Officer of the League Management Company, the body in charge of the Nigerian Professional Football League, the 2018/19 season of the NPFL will kick-off on the 1st of December 2018, with the regular season ending on the 19th of May 2019.
The new season will be in form of an abridged league of Pool A and B with the playoffs set to hold from the 13th to the 31st of May 2019. The 2018/2019 NPFL season has been slated to be mainly weekend games.
