The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday asked President Muhammadu Buhari to post the ex-service chiefs who have been confirmed as non-career ambassadors to insurgency-prone neighboring countries where their experiences can be utilized.

Lawan said this as the Senate confirmed the nomination of ex-service chiefs as non-career ambassadors.

The Senate’s action followed the presentation of the report by the Senate committee on foreign affairs asking the senate to confirm the nominees after their screening.

Deputy Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe was the lone voice who questioned the capabilities of the nominees. Abaribe brought the attention of the Senate to a petition against the nominees on Senate’s past resolutions for their removal while working as service chiefs.

However, the President of the Senate while reacting to the comments by Abaribe said the observation is null and void as the nominees have been nominated for a different office.
