The Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, wants the government to address the current rate of migration of medical and dental practitioners overseas.

Chairman of the association, Francis Faduyile, made the call in Abuja while reviewing the 59th annual general conference of the health care professionals which held in Ebonyi State.

The body of the health care providers also called for the full implementation of the Medical Residency Training Act by the Federal Ministry of  Health among other things.

The annual general conference and delegates conference of the NMA with the theme “Skills Repatriation in the Health Sector”, turning Nigeria’s brain drain to brain gain, was an avenue for the doctors to bring to the fore issues affecting the country’s health care for effective and efficient delivery.
