President Muhammadu Buhari in a live national address on 27 April disclosed that the federal government would support medical practitioners who get infected by the virus in the line of duty.
The president affirmed that their safety and well-being remain important to his administration. During the national broadcast that started airing at 8:00 pm, Buhari commended the effort of all the health workers who put their lives as risk each day as the country continues the battle against coronavirus.
Currently, the nation has 1337 confirmed cases of the virus, 255 discharged persons, and 40 recorded death. Lagos State remains the epicentre of the outbreak with 764 confirmed cases, 143 discharged persons, and 19 number of death.
