Gernot Rohr and Nigeria Football Federation closer than ever towards final agreement

In an interview on Friday, the super eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr hit back at critics and fans who have called for him to select more home-based players by stating that Nigeria’s best players are in Europe, not Nigeria.

He also spoke about the appointment of Joseph Yobo as his assistant coach after the former Super Eagles captain took the place of Imma Amapakabo.

Rohr reiterated that Imma did well in his role and enjoyed working with him but he must accept the decision of the NFF to appoint Yobo.

Rohr went further to state that he and Yobo have been in contact since his appointment in March and Yobo has been tasked with keeping in touch with certain players.

In the interview, Rohr spoke about unity in the style of play between the u-23, u-20, and u-17 as well as the women’s team. He also highlighted the integration of young players into the squad.
