Nigerian Senate suspends plenary to prepare for Constitution Review

Senate President, Ahmed Lawan announced earlier today that plenary will shut down to devote the entire week to the review of the constitution.

The 1999 Constitution review is set to hold across the country between May 26th – 27th led by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.

Lawan urged all to take advantage of the exercise as there exists no agenda. He also revealed that the legislature is willing to take on new suggestions on how to improve the national welfare.

The public hearings are to hold across 12 state capitals in each geo-political zone nationwide.
