The NCDC has confirmed 84 new cases of COVID-19 infections and one death bringing the total fatalities to 2060 in the country. The cases were recorded across 13 states and Lagos led with the highest number of infections.

Coronavirus cases have continued to maintain a downward trend in the country, well below the former daily average of 200 in the past week.

As of date, 1.8 million coronavirus tests have been carried out nationwide and 154,098 persons have recovered of the 163,000 confirmed infections in the country.

All are still enjoined to wear their facemasks and maintain social distancing as newer and mutant variants of the disease are being discovered.
