Nigeria discharges highest number of 829 Covid-19 patients in one day

The total number of successfully treated Covid-19 cases in Nigeria has jumped to 18,203. This follows the discharge of 829 Covid-19 patients across the country in the last 24 hours.

The number which is the highest in one day since the index case was reported on February 27 is also higher than the number of new cases recorded on Monday.

The figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, show that 648 new Covid-19 infections were recorded in 21 states across the country. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 41,180.

The new Covid-19 infections are reported in Lagos-180; Plateau-148; FCT-44; Ondo-42; Kwara-38; Rivers-32; Oyo-29; Kaduna-21 and Osun-20.

The remaining new cases include those in Edo and Ogun-17 each; Ekiti-11; Kano, Benue, Delta and Abia-9 each; Niger-7; Gombe-3; Borno, Bauchi and Imo-1 each.

Meanwhile, Nigeria reported two new Covid-19 fatalities on Monday with the national death toll now 860.
