The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama has suggested that the nation is currently struggling to meet its financial obligations from belonging to so many International organisations and is now considering withdrawing its memberships on some.

According to Onyeama, currently, Nigeria owes a lot and as such, there is an ongoing process to reduce memberships as continuously owing is detrimental to the image of the country.

He also mentioned that transporting ambassadors and their families have become a herculean task due to funding constraints.

The minister concluded by mentioning that the Nigerian missions are currently underfunded.
