Niger state banditry: Joint Security Task Force foil attack in Rijau town

A Joint Security Task Force in Shambo in Niger State has killed over thirty bandits during gunfire exchange. Sources said the bandits were making efforts to storm Rijau town, the Headquarters of Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State.

The Nigerian Army, local vigilante groups, and other security agencies constituted the Joint Security Task Force that foiled the bandits’ attempt on Rijau town.

The residents of the town applauded the success recorded in the fire exchange with the bandits. They are calling on the government at all levels to support the security agencies to overcome the present challenges in the state and the country.

Efforts to get the reactions of the Niger State Police Command were not successful.
